Overview of Pre-Built Tools & Abilities

Introduction

This short guide walks you through all the pre-built tools and abilities available for your assistant. These tools expand the assistant’s capabilities—helping it search the web, manage calendar bookings, send emails, and more. These are plug-and-play tools you can add directly through the platform.

1. Where to Find Tools & Abilities

  • Go to the right-hand sidebar inside the assistant builder.
  • Click Tools & Abilities, then Manage Tools.
  • You’ll see a list under Pre-Platform Tools.
Note: If you’re viewing this around April 15–20, 2025, version one tools will disappear soon—use Version 2 tools going forward.

2. Available Tools & What They Do

✅ Update User Details

Updates contact info like:
  • First name
  • Last name
  • Phone
  • Email
  • Address

🔍 Search the Web

Allows the assistant to search live web content and return results to the user.

📅 Calendar Management Tools

  • Get Availability
    Pulls open time slots from your GoHighLevel calendars. Prevents double bookings.
  • Book Appointment
    Uses the availability above to schedule a time with the user.
  • Get Calendar Events
    Retrieves existing calendar events (bookings).
  • Update Appointment Details
    Cancels or reschedules an appointment to a different time.

🕒 Self-Schedule

Lets the bot schedule a callback/reminder.
Example: “Reach out to me at 5 PM.”

📞 Call a User

Initiates a voice call through the assistant using an attached number.

📧 Send Email

Sends an email to the user with requested information.
Example: pricing, plan comparisons, follow-ups.

Tips

  • Always use version 2 tools going forward—legacy tools will be phased out.
  • Tools like Get Availability and Book Appointment require calendar integrations.
  • You can combine multiple tools for more advanced flows (e.g., call + email).
